Products to disinfect scouting tools

April 29, 2020 – Issue 7

Bleach is a low-cost and highly effective disinfectant for clubroot spores on equipment, scouting tools, boots and tires. But you have other effective product options.

While we’re on the topic of scouting kits, here is the whole list of stuff to include while you pack yours for 2020.

And one more note on scouting for clubroot: Saskatchewan canola growers can call SaskCanola for a clubroot soil test kit. For any Saskatchewan canola field not tested for the clubroot pathogen last fall, growers are encouraged to take soil samples this spring. SaskCanola will cover the cost of the test ($100 value). Contact the SaskCanola office at 306-975-0262 to request a provincial clubroot monitoring kit. Soil samples need to be sent to Discovery Seed Labs by June 30.
