Bertha spraying and pre-harvest intervals

A full-fledged bertha armyworm outbreak continues in the Peace region. Continue scouting, noting that fields at thresholds can be right beside fields with low counts.

See scouting tips and threshold table in last week’s more detailed article.

If fields are at threshold and the grower decides to spray, note that the pre-harvest intervals for some products may have passed, taking those products off the table. For example, Lorsban has a 21-day preharvest interval. If the field will be swathed or straight combined within the next 21 days, Lorsban cannot be used on that field.
