Answer: Blackleg is on the left. Downy mildew is on the right. Blackleg lesions have tiny black spots called picnidia. Downy mildew lesions will have white powdery growth on the underside of leaves. Alternaria and sclerotinia stem rot can also cause lesions on leaves. See the Top 10 article in this issue for more photos.
