CGC wants snowed-in canola samples for research

The Canadian Grain Commission seeks samples of canola from 2016 that was harvested late due to weather conditions or have been over-wintered. The impact of snow on canola quality has not been studied, so these samples would be used for research that assesses the impact of snowed-in and over-wintered canola on canola quality. Each producer that submits samples will be sent their sample results. Overall results from the study will be posted online.

In addition to developing an understanding of the impact of snow on the end-use functionality ‎of canola, results of this research will help ensure the Canadian canola industry continues to supply a consistent and dependable commodity to end-use customers.
