Summer agronomy opportunity with the CCC

The Canola Council of Canada will hire three post-secondary students to fill the position: Agronomy Specialist Summer Assistant.

One position is available in each of Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta for May 2-August 31, 2016.

The Canola Council of Canada’s agronomy specialists constantly work to improve the
profitability and sustainability of canola for producers. We encourage students to consider joining this team.

Reporting to a Regional Agronomy Specialist, the summer assistants primary responsibilities
will include:
—Field scouting and field-trial work
—Project management/participation
—Territory travel with some overnight trips
—Extension efforts via multiple mediums (ex. Social media, meetings, etc.)
—Collaboration with Canola Council’s Crop Production and Innovation Team as well as
industry professionals

Qualifications include:
—Enrollment in a post-secondary agriculture program or related field
—Prior experience in the agricultural field, preferably with prior crop-scouting experience
—Must be self-motivated and highly organized with attention to detail
—Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
—Professionalism and maturity essential
—Ability to manage a budget is an asset
—Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel
